Privacy Statement

How BBnet Communications collects, uses and protects your personal information.

  1. Section 1

What do we do with your information?

When you sign up for or pay for our services, as part of that process we collect the personal information you give us, such as your name, address, phone number and email address.

When you contact us, apply for a connection, report an issue or leave a review through this website, we collect the details you provide so we can respond and deliver the service.

When you browse our website, we also automatically receive your computer's internet protocol (IP) address, which gives us information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

Email marketing: with your permission, we may send you emails about our services, new products and other updates.

  2. Section 2

    Consent

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to sign up for a service, make a payment, arrange an installation or report an issue, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your express consent, or give you an opportunity to say no.

How do I withdraw my consent?

If you change your mind after opting in, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, or for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at any time by contacting us at info@bbnetcommunications.co.ke or writing to us at BBnet Communications, Havillah Plaza, Ground Floor, Bamburi, Mombasa 80101, Kenya.

  3. Section 3

    Disclosure

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

  4. Section 4

    Payment

M-Pesa payments are processed by Safaricom under its own terms and privacy policy.

We do not store card data on our servers. Card data is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) when processing payment. Your purchase transaction data is only used as long as is necessary to complete your transaction, and is not saved after that.

Our payment gateway adheres to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of card information by us and our service providers.

  5. Section 5

    Third-party services

In general, the third-party providers we use will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. However, certain providers, such as payment gateways and other payment processors, have their own privacy policies for the information we are required to provide to them for your transactions. We recommend that you read their privacy policies so you understand how your personal information will be handled.

Certain providers may be located in, or have facilities in, a different jurisdiction from you or us. If you proceed with a transaction that involves a third-party provider, your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that provider or its facilities are located.

Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Statement or our Terms of Service. Links on our website may take you to other sites; we are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

  6. Section 6

    Security

BBnet implements appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss, misuse or destruction.

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

  7. Section 7

    Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies and your browser's local storage to remember your preferences, such as your light or dark theme and your cookie choice. Analytics cookies are only used if you accept them, to help us understand how the website is used. They are not used to identify you personally on other websites.

By using this site, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (the age of majority in Kenya), or that you are the age of majority and have given consent for any of your minor dependents to use this site.

  9. Section 9

    Changes to this Privacy Statement

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Statement at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications take effect immediately upon posting on the website. If we make material changes, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use or disclose it.

If BBnet Communications is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to provide services to you.
