Small businesses are often targeted because attackers expect weak defences. The good news: a few basics block most threats.

1. A properly configured firewall

Your router's default settings aren't enough. A business firewall filters malicious traffic and separates guest and staff networks.

2. Multi-factor authentication

Turn on MFA for email, banking and cloud apps. It blocks most password-based attacks.

3. Regular, tested backups

Keep at least one backup offline or in the cloud, and test restoring it.

4. Staff awareness

Train staff to spot phishing emails, fake invoices and suspicious payment requests.

5. Updates and antivirus

Keep systems patched and protected. Our managed IT service can handle this for you.
